ComplianceGuider

Terms of Service

Version 2026-07-02 · Effective July 2, 2026

The short version: ComplianceGuider is an informational tool. We help you track permits, licenses, and deadlines — we are not a law firm, we do not provide legal, tax, or professional advice, and you should verify requirements with the issuing agency or a licensed professional before relying on them.

1. Who we are

ComplianceGuider ("we," "us," "the Service") is operated by Veryation, a California sole proprietorship. If our operating entity changes (for example, to a limited liability company), we will update these Terms and the version date above; your continued use constitutes acceptance of the successor entity as the contracting party.

2. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, subscribing to a paid plan, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of a business, you represent that you have authority to bind that business.

3. What the Service is — and is not

The Service provides general regulatory information, checklists, reminders, and AI-assisted summaries about permits, licenses, taxes, and other compliance obligations, personalized to details you provide about your business.

4. AI-generated content

Portions of the Service use artificial intelligence to generate responses. AI output can be wrong, incomplete, or outdated, and must be independently verified before you act on it. AI chat messages you send are processed by third-party AI providers to generate responses.

5. Accounts

Accounts are created via email sign-in links. You are responsible for maintaining access to your email address and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the Service.

6. Subscriptions and billing

7. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE INFORMATION IN THE SERVICE IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR CURRENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY FINES, PENALTIES, LOST PROFITS, OR MISSED DEADLINES, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE; AND (b) OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE (OR $50 IF YOU HAVE PAID NOTHING). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME OF THESE MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your violation of these Terms or your violation of any law or third-party right in connection with your use of the Service.

10. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may modify the Service or these Terms. For material changes we will post the updated Terms with a new version date and, for subscribers, notify you by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for any dispute lies in the state or federal courts located in California.
